The Solution

One of Massive’s primary issues was its geographically diverse workforce and the management of its devices. Penntech deployed its Bitdefender Managed threat protection as an anti-malware product and CyberSmart Active Protect (Reduce your cyber risk by 98.5% and ensure protection | CyberSmart) agent to provide a single pane of glass overview of its device’s compliance with the Cyber Essentials certification. CyberSmart reports on the following areas and provides daily alerts for non-compliance so that remediation can be completed:

  • OS update is enabled
  • OS is running a supported version
  • Autoplay of media is disabled
  • A Managed AV is enabked
  • A Managed firewall is enabled
  • The device has a password and lock screen time out
  • Full disk encryption is enabled
  • The logged-on user isn’t an administrator

The outcome

The result is that Massive are compliant with Cyber Essentials and can monitor its devices to ensure that they remain compliant throughout the year.

Being compliant with the Cyber Essentials guidelines also bought the cost of their renewal down.
